The instructions I gave Abraham, the father of faith, when I first called him did not make any sense. I made what sounded like a joke of a call to Gideon. Although the young man claimed to be "the least" in his father's home, I called him "a mighty man of valor." Mary didn't know how a virgin could become pregnant without a man, but she just trusted my messenger.

The Apostles, perhaps? They were all occupied with living their lives. They were experts in their respective fields of endeavor. Peter gave up fishing to pursue a career as a fisher of men. I used Apostle Paul, who yielded and gave up his life of influence as a church persecutor.

Are you adhering to my requests? When will you finish everything I've previously asked you to do? Why do you find it difficult to follow my instructions? Partial obedience is equivalent to disobedience. When will you trust me with all your heart?

You Will Not Be Disappointed

Even though My instructions are not always logical, those who wholly followed them had nothing to regret. It may not make sense right now, but it will make more sense in the future. Forget the math and the feasibility studies; my line of thinking is superior to yours. My ways are not your ways.

I made the choice to use a woman who was already engaged in giving birth to the Savior. I can likewise feed you with manna from heaven or by using anyone. Your ability to follow a specific but illogical directive like "going to wash in the Jordan river" may be the key to your healing.

You can miss out on the chance to be healed if you choose to search for experts. I can choose to pay your debts through strangers. I am the Creator of the universe, and I do what pleases me.

Lean on Me

You've been trained to think logically as a human. You must weigh the advantages and cons of a thing before deciding. Many Christians have missed out on My plans and purposes because of their logical way of thinking.

Why not put your trust in Me and submit to My will. Stop being reserved. I won't take you down a path of ruin. Every directive I provide has a specific objective. Never will I abandon you or leave you in the midway.

Although it will be challenging at first, I might urge you to quit your work and look out for souls in the missionary fields; that doesn’t mean I will leave you to perish. There is always a more excellent glory ahead.

Have you ever disregarded My instructions before? Because you consistently disobey My commands, you have grieved My Holy Spirit in you! Please confess your sins right now. You can receive mercy and restoration.

Also, learn to listen to My directions as you restart your walk with Me. Don't let your calculations and human logic constrain My capacity. Regardless of how things appear or sound, be receptive to directions.

Study the lives of My servants in the Bible and the steps they took. Keep an open mind to My Spirit and be prepared to act in complete obedience at all times.
